Glutamine and Nitric Oxide - Two of the Best Bodybuilding Supplements


Whenever you read an article about bodybuilding, you often hear about protein intake and testosterone boosters more than anything else. But there are two other supplements that can provide wonderful results for your muscle mass building efforts – Glutamine and Nitric Oxide.

Glutamine occurs naturally in the body, often produced by muscle tissue. It helps people recover from injury and helps heal wounds, and it’s often given after surgery, so it makes sense that when it comes to hardcore workouts, it assists in your recovery process, too.

It’s sold as a supplement that helps with muscle growth and endurance, but you can also get it naturally in your diet through things like wheat, spinach, eggs, fish, dairy, beans, and even in small doses whenever you drink vegetable juice.

The reason you need to take extra supplementations of glutamine is because your body is already using your current stores for digestion and healing, so bodybuilding puts an extra strain on your muscles, requiring an additional dose. If you’re lacking in glutamine, because your workout has used half or more of your body’s supply, then it can wreak havoc on your immune system.

You have to make sure you follow directions on the glutamine supplement that you’re taking. Remember that it can cause upset stomach side effects, so if this happens to you, decrease your dosage until you feel comfortable taking it.

Another top supplement for bodybuilders to consider is nitric oxide. It’s commonly known as NO supplements, for short.  This supplement is unique because it helps the blood flow more openly for bodybuilders, oxygenating their cells and helping them endure a longer, more hazardous workout regimen.

Bodybuilders who have taken nitric oxide supplements report faster gains in muscle and faster loss of fat. They’re stronger and able to push themselves more, but the recovery time is shortened.

When you’re taking nitric oxide, your blood vessels open wider, so blood (and blood carries oxygen and nutrients) can reach more areas of your body, faster. Depending on which nitric oxide supplement you buy, you might get additional benefits that work in conjunction with the nitric oxide.

However, this also means that whatever other ingredients are in the supplement, you might have to consider those side effects, since nitric oxide itself has no side effects to report.
